What you need to know
The regular team season runs from August to May, and all members are required to attend a mandatory choreography camp from August 4th to 7th, along with regular classes and events.
To ensure optimal technique and growth, dancers must complete 16 hours of technique classes during our 8-week summer session or participate in an equivalent dance camp or intensive program elsewhere. Instructors must sign off on these hours. This requirement is crucial for assessing each dancer’s growth, technique level, and commitment to skill improvement, all of which are key factors in team placement decisions.

Who are the Teams?
Our competition teams are designed for dancers of all levels, from eager beginners to experienced performers. Each team offers specialized training, exciting choreography, and opportunities to compete while building confidence and friendships. No matter your experience, there’s a team that’s the perfect fit for you!
Ages 6-8
A Novice team of our most electric little ones who have caught the dance bug early. We can’t wait to see them thrive and grow this coming season. This group will perform 2 of the following styles of dance this season: Jazz, Tap, or Ballet/Lyrical. These dancers train 1.5 – 2.5 hours per week.
Ages 8-10
Beginner dancers who have demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm for dance. These dancers are hungry and eager to work hard and absorb all they can. Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical. These dancers train 2 – 3 hours per week.
Ages 11 - Teen.
Advancing Beginner/Intermediate dancers who have demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm for dance and are eager to learn and improve their skills. These dancers train 4 – 5 hours per week.
Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballet, Musical Theater & Contemporary.
Ages 12 - Teen.
High Intermediate dancers with competitive experience and must demonstrate strong technical abilities such as genre styling, musicality, body awareness, choreography, precision and performance. These dancers train 4+ hours per week.
Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, & Contemporary.
Ages 12 - Teen.
Advanced dancers with competitive experience and excel in their skills and passion for dance. They must be able to quickly pick up choreography and execute it with precision and emotion. These dancers train 5+ hours per week.
Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Modern, Jazz Funk & Contemporary.

My kid did 2 of their short 6 week programs with Ms.Kris and Sophia and every week was something new and fun. Jazz, hip hop, ballet and acro. He loved it all and the people he did it with!! It’s pretty impressive to see 2 instructors get a dozen tiny kids all on the same page and make a whole dance in one short session and have fun doing it. You get to watch it all unfold in their waiting room which is also really cool! Definitely recommend!

I LOVE ovation dance! I have 2 daughters enrolled here and I am so pleased with how much they learn each week. They have a wonderful teacher who is kind and patient with them. I highly recommend Ovation dance! All of the staff genuinely cares for the well being of our children and they treat them like they are their own. They are extremely helpful when finding the right type of dance class for your child. They are organized and do a great job communicating. My daughter started dancing with Ovation at the age of 4, she will be 14 in the spring. The staff have been nurturing, loving and supportive of her on her dance journey. They are amazing role models that provide gentle pushing when needed, positive encouragement, and a shoulder to cry on when days are hard. They check in regularly with me and have become a second family. At Ovation there is no need for risky costumes or obscene dance moves, they provide class and sophistication without rigidity. I danced at this studio about 4 years ago and both then and now, I will say this studio is amazing. An encouraging environment for students and with fresh and new feeling choreography! The teachers care about their students. They also are great with communication and making sure parents and dancers know what they need to.
