Ready to take your dance training to the next level? Our competition teams offer a dynamic and rewarding experience for dancers who are passionate about growth, teamwork, and performance. Joining an Ovation Dance Team is a commitment that fosters confidence, dedication, and excellence—both on and off the stage.

Competition Dancers are required to complete 16 hours of technique class during our 8-week summer session or participate in an equivalent dance camp or intensive program elsewhere. Instructors must sign off on these hours.
Dancers can participate in our open class audition held in June. If you are unable to attend this class, we also offer the option to set up a private audition or class audition.
Submit your team placement application by July 1st to be considered for the team.
You will receive notification of your team placement status no later than July 22nd.
~ If you are accepted onto a team, confirm your placement by July 26th to secure your spot.
~Make sure to follow any necessary steps to confirm your placement and prepare for the upcoming season.
~Participate in the mandatory choreography camp on August 4th-7th.
~ This is a requirement for team placement, so make sure to clear your schedule and attend.

Who are the Teams?
Our competition teams are designed for dancers of all levels, from eager beginners to experienced performers. Each team offers specialized training, exciting choreography, and opportunities to compete while building confidence and friendships. No matter your experience, there’s a team that’s the perfect fit for you!
Ages 6-8
A Novice team of our most electric little ones who have caught the dance bug early. We can’t wait to see them thrive and grow this coming season. This group will perform 2 of the following styles of dance this season: Jazz, Tap, or Ballet/Lyrical. These dancers train 1.5 – 2.5 hours per week.
Ages 8-10
Beginner dancers who have demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm for dance. These dancers are hungry and eager to work hard and absorb all they can. Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical. These dancers train 2 – 3 hours per week.
Ages 11 – Teen.
Advancing Beginner/Intermediate dancers who have demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm for dance and are eager to learn and improve their skills. These dancers train 4 – 5 hours per week.
Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballet, Musical Theater & Contemporary.
Ages 12 – Teen.
High Intermediate dancers with competitive experience and must demonstrate strong technical abilities such as genre styling, musicality, body awareness, choreography, precision and performance. These dancers train 4+ hours per week.
Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, & Contemporary.
Ages 12 – Teen.
Advanced dancers with competitive experience and excel in their skills and passion for dance. They must be able to quickly pick up choreography and execute it with precision and emotion. These dancers train 5+ hours per week.
Styles this group has performed: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Modern, Jazz Funk & Contemporary.
